A Day Out in HCMC

Eating:  Ngon
This place offers local Vietnamese faire.  Its lengthy menu reminds me of a NYC dinner menu in that you can pretty much order anything you want in terms of Vietnamese food.  For new comers don’t wait to be escorted to your table. Walk in grab a seat and relax.  I suggest ordering a fruit shake while your food is cooked in the outdoor kitchen.

Curiousity got the best of me on my second visit to the spa. My husband and I decided to treat ourselves to the VIP lotus experience.  Although I am not sure I believe it, but apparently they save the more skilled masseuers for this special treatment.  The massage was excellent although they spent more time on my feet than my back (which hurt just a bit and felt good all at the same time).  From what I could tell there isn’t really a difference other than the room you are in is more private and you can opt to watch a DVD or TV while you get your services. Personally I would find it a bit distracting rather than relaxing to do so.  But to each their own.
Going out:  Alibi
On continuing in our night’s adventure we decided to grab a glass of wine at a nearby local joint called Alibi.  The atmosphere is warm and friendly.  There is one long table the fills the bar where guest are crowd around.  This family style set up invites all guest to join in a conversation together.  When we arrived the place was packed with male expats and some very attractive young ladies including the hostess all enjoying each other’s company.  The wine is a bit more pricey than some other places but you'll enjoy the show unfolding before your eyes.
