As we stepped off the plane and made our first footprints on Vietnamese soil we were instantly hit by humidity that hung over Ho Chi Minh. After working our way through the visa counter we stepped out to catch a cab to our hotel in District 1.
Our driver was friendly and full of giggles as we both mubbled things in our respective languages not really understanding a word. We made our way to our hotel as hundreds, or rather what seemed to be thousands of motorbikes sped past us carrying 3, 4, 5 plus people. All going somewhere caught up in their busy Ho Chi Minh routines.

First impressions: the city is alive day and night. Each morning as the sun rises the streets are already filled with motorbikes, store fronts serving Pho, hot buns and more for breakfast. People sit at the little storefronts sharing in conversation or capturing a moment of peace before the day begins. The pace continues nonstop until the wee hours of the morning. Welcome to Saigon.
